The 45th president is a symptom of a political malady that afflicts America’s experiment in self-governance: the ability of malevolent forces to divide, manipulate and motivate millions of voters through the thousands of details collected from all of us through the interconnected wonder we call the Internet. In the future, we will see candidates steeped in philosophies antithetical to democracy, zealous in their desires to rule us and possessed of the management skill to take over our government. This talk will explore how this problem arose and what we must do about it now if our liberties endure.
