The Influence of Money
The influence of money in election campaigns, on legislators and ultimately on public policy is undermining democracy and diminishing the voice of ordinary Americans. Special interest groups and individuals capable of donating huge sums of money to support or defeat candidates for elected office and influence public policy is having a destructive, some say corrupting impact on democracy. There are various efforts being made to address the money influence issue.
NFRPP will educate on the issue and the various solutions to the problem. However, campaign finance reform offers the opportunity to foster fair elections, reduce or eliminate the need for legislators to waste valuable time on fund raising, and empower legislators to be independent , develop and enact policies that serve the public interest. Reforms will give voice to ordinary citizens.
