 About Abeer Shaheen: Abeer Shaheen is currently a lecturer at Columbia University’s Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies Department, visiting scholar at Rutgers University, and Education and Gender Consultant at Sharakpur Financial Services, Washington, D.C. She is the author of From Dictatorship to Democracy: Iraq under Erasure (doctoral dissertation).

About Omar Humadi: Mr. Humadi is currently the Adviser to H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Alhakim, Permanent Mission of Iraq to the United Nations. He has over 14 years’ experience in political advising, consultation and campaign management, administration, and finance. Throughout his career as an adviser, Mr. Humadi has worked with high raking Iraqi politicians in Washington, D.C. and Baghdad on a wide range of political and strategic issues
