Gasland II Film Screening

Wondering what "hydrofracking" (also called "fracking") is, and why it's such a hot topic? Watch the free screening of GASLAND II, the informative and entertaining documentary about hydrofracking, the controversial method of extracting natural gas and oil.

What: Gasland II, the groundbreaking documentary(sequel to Gasland I). This film is presented by NJPPN in association with Food & Water Watch NJ. A post-film discussion will be held.

Where: First Presbyterian Church Chapel, 150 East Palisade Avenue, Englewood, NJ

RSVP: Admission is free

GASLAND II by Josh Fox argues that the gas industry's portrayal of natural gas as a clean and safe alternative to oil is a myth and that fracked wells inevitably leak over time, contaminating water and air, hurting families, and endangering the earth's climate with the potent greenhouse gas, methane. The free screening is part of Global Frackdown, a global effort to raise awareness and educate toward responsible public policies on hydrofracking.

First Presbyterian Church is not affiliated with NJPPN and does not endorse the content of the film or take a position on hydrofracking.  As a service to the community, FPC is providing a venue for discussion of important issues of the day.
