A Tribute to Pete Seeger

A Live Performance with Some NJPPN Professionals:

Spook Handy, Cynthia Summers and Pace Goodman

and others including YOU in the Sing-Along

Pseeger.jpgPete Seeger was an icon of principle. He worked for an America in which all people live together in harmony and are treated equally. Seeger lived his life in accordance with this belief, and created music that spread the same message.

On April 17th, The North Jersey Public Policy Network will honor Pete Seeger’s life and legacy. Three talented musicians, two of whom had the honor of playing for and with Pete Seeger, will lead the celebration. They are Spook Handy, Cynthia Summers, and Pace Goodman.

SHandy.pngSpook Handy is a nationally touring folk artist who has performed more than 50 times alongside Pete Seeger. He was named “Best Folk Artist” by Upstage Magazine, Gannett New Jersey, the Courier News, the Home News and About.com.

CSummers.pngGlen Rock resident Cynthia Summers is a folk singer/songwriter and a winner of the New Folk Showcase of the New Jersey Folk Festival and the Solar Fest Songwriting competition. In 2006, Cynthia sang Pete Seeger’s song “Oh, Had I a Golden Thread” in a special performance for Pete himself.

PGoodman.pngPace Goodman, formerly of Wyckoff, continues the American tradition of marrying blues, folk, jazz, and rock, and is best known for his work with the band Holiday Blue.
